Parts Consultant Job Duties:

JOB OVERVIEW:
The Parts Consultant sells at retail, parts to internal and external customers, over the counter, through the shop, or on the phone. The Parts Consultant also verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Assist walk-in customers in selecting required parts, suggest companion requirements, offer specials, and ensure that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
• Answer phone calls, providing price quotes and other information.
• Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick up.
• Verify and call any back-order files weekly and return to vendors, or stock those items not required.
• Assist service technicians in selecting parts needed for repairs in process.
• Open a repair order envelope for all new repair orders.
• Ensure that outgoing shipments meets specifications.
• Maintain inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
• Receive damaged or defective goods returned to vendor and notify Parts Manager.
• Other parts related duties as assigned.
• Keep parts office and warehouse area clean and free of safety hazards at all times.
